Been super busy baking and preparing for our wedding anniversary party tomorrow. It’s all coming together nicely and I am thrilled that the munchkins have been trying to be helpful in as many ways as possible. Not that they have been 100% committed, wandering off after doing what they were working on, sometimes leaving it, rather than looking for the next thing to do. However they didn’t seem to mind me calling them back for the next job. I am happy though – after all they are doing something which takes some of the load off me. It’s a great learning time for them in keeping going till things are done. Not to mention work flow and organistion of job’s versus time etc.
Lot’s of cooking was done and they do love to help out with that. The back garden courtyard is semi ready and we have borrowed some tables and an outdoor servery from some friends. It should look good by tomorrow afternoon.
Of course I could not let the occasion pass without doing something creative for it. The right hand page shows our “25th Anniversary” banner. I made the hybrid paper medallions by printing a Christmas text from Pink Paislee and House of 3. Cutting them into strips and accordion folding them then gluing them to small circles to hold them down finished that part off.
The medallions were then added with 3D pop dots to banner triangle shapes using the same papers, from Paislee Press’s Rue kit, as the party invitations. Painting the chipboard letters with Mr Huey paints made the silver glitter that was glued on look much stronger. Hot glue was used to attach the silver letters to the front of the medallions. The whole lot were stapled using Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to silver curly ribbon. It will be hung on the wall above the dessert buffet tomorrow.
Right now I need to figure out how to get this fine silver off everything – including myself. Otherwise I could look like one of the silver decorations for my own party. This post was supposed to be the 16th but as it is after midnight I am guessing I should go to bed. Maybe I will awaken to a silver glittery morning. 🙂
